Where the Heart Is

Where the Heart Is is the name of Nancy Gentry’s newest venture, a care center in Burlington, the location of her other three businesses — HomePlace, Wee Care and Landed Gentry Real Estate. Ask her, as Janet O’Mara did, about her business acumen and she will tell you that she’s a caregiver first, a business woman second.

Synergy Salon

Teresa Knight is the kind of busy person you ask to be involved — she puts in 110 percent. As owner of her own beauty salon, Synergy, she has her hands full on a daily basis. But she’s a strong business advocate and a leader in several women’s professional groups. Heidi Thomas visited her at her Mount Vernon business.

Her Closet

Owner Kay Hall has good things to say about the manager of her second woman’s apparel shop in Burlington, DiAnn Sager: “She blew in like a tornado. She’s one keck of an upbeat lady.” Her Closet is the newest store, located on Fairhaven Avenue where Vale’s used to ber, and Sager runs it in a less-than-traditional manner.
